Sewing project for women needing employment located in Assumption, Ill. as one of many started by the WPA during the depression. Also provided garments and articles needed by local welfare agencies for free distribution to needy families and to tax supported institutions. The women made clothing for men, women and children, and infant layettes. They also made sheets, pillow cases, towels, surgical dressings and items used on other WPA projects.
